  • Ovulation induction. Ovulation is key to pregnancy, but in some cases, a woman is ovulating infrequently or not at all. Fertility medications can try to influence the delicate balance of hormones. In women, medication such as Clomid “tricks” the brain into believing estrogen levels are low. This signals the pituitary gland to pump out FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones prompt follicles to develop in the ovaries, resulting in the release of an egg. These medications can be used with timed intercourse or intrauterine insemination (IUI) to achieve pregnancy. Intrauterine insemination. IUI can help men or women suffering from a variety of fertility issues. The IUI process involves medication to prompt ovulation, and the injection of washed and prepared sperm directly into the uterus with a catheter. The direct placement can facilitate fertilization. With IUI, bypassing the cervix means a direct route to the uterus. IUI can overcome issues related to low sperm count or cervical issues.
  • IVF. In vitro fertilization is the most proven and highly successful of all fertility treatments to overcome male or female causes of infertility. With IVF, medication promotes the maturation of eggs, which are retrieved and fertilized in our state-of-the-art lab. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is commonly used in conjunction with IVF, with a single sperm injected directly into an egg. The resulting embryo is carefully transferred into the uterus.
  • Fertility surgery. Surgery can restore fertility if a woman has polyps, scar tissue, fibroids, endometriosis or blocked fallopian tubes causing fertility issues.
  • PCOS. Our experienced fertility specialists have many options to treat women with polycystic ovary syndrome. This can bring relief and help put patients on the pathway to parenthood.
  • Donor services. Our in-house egg donor program or the use of donor sperm can help single individuals, heterosexual couples or same-sex couples grow their families with fertility treatments including IUI or IVF.
